Intellectual Property Management System Implementation
(Symphony – Maxval) ADAMA

Background

As part of a global project led by the Syngenta Group, it was decided to transition all group companies to a unified intellectual property management system (Symphony – Maxval).
The project involved migrating multiple companies from different systems into one platform, while maintaining strict data separation and high-level information security.

Main Challenges

  • Transitioning from multiple systems to a single global system

  • High requirements for data security and data separation between group companies and different users

  • Aligning work processes across different organizations

  • Adapting existing data to a new system structure

  • Working with multiple stakeholders: internal teams, external teams, management, and the parent company

Objective

To lead ADAMA’s transition to the new system, adapting it to organizational needs, ensuring data integrity and security, and aligning work processes with other group companies in a way that best fits ADAMA’s users.

My Role

  • Leading the project on behalf of ADAMA

  • Analyzing the needs of the Intellectual Property department (patents and trademarks)

  • Writing specification documents

  • Supporting the migration process, including data preparation and cleansing

  • Managing system testing

  • Training users and leading system adoption

  • Ongoing coordination with the parent company and global stakeholders

What I Did in Practice

  • Learned and analyzed the workflows of the Intellectual Property department

  • Wrote specification documents for patents and trademarks

  • Led and supported the data preparation process for migration

  • Identified data gaps and led data cleansing efforts

  • Managed and executed system testing (UAT)

  • Trained users and supported them throughout the implementation process

  • Continuously aligned company needs with Syngenta Group requirements

  • Worked in compliance with high information security standards
